The Creator can give more meaning to our lives
"Let them praise the name of the LORD: for he commanded and were created. "(Psalm 148:5.)
" Have you come to know? "This question usually elicits one in the minds of many:" Getting to know what. " However, it is a serious question. To better understand the response is necessary to know the context in which it was made: Chapter 40 of the biblical book written by Isaiah, an ancient Hebrew prophet. So the question is very old, but it is also very current. It has to do with the true meaning of life.
Given its importance, the question of Isaiah 40:28 deserves our attention: "Did not you come to know, or have you not heard? Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth is a God to time indefinite. " So the 'get to know' was related to the Creator of the Earth, and the context shows that there is more involved than just this planet. Two verses before Isaiah wrote about the stars: "Raise your eyes high up and see. Who created these things? It is He who brings the army of them even by number [...]. Due to the abundance of dynamic energy, he also being vigorous in power, none of them is missing. "
Yes, the question "Have you come to know?" Has to do with the Creator of the universe. We are convinced that Jehovah God is the Creator of the ends of the earth. " Possibly know enough about his personality and his ways. But what would we do if we were to anyone who doubted the existence of the Creator and therefore did not know who he is? That fact should not surprise us, because there are millions and millions of people who do not know the Creator or not believe in him (Psalm 14:1, 53:1).
schools are producing many skeptics who think that science has the answer on the origin of the universe and life, or the will. In the book Aux Origines de la Vie (The origins of life) and Lenay Hagene authors say: "The origin of life is still an issue for the twenty-first century. This problem is so difficult to solve, requires research into all fields, from the vastness of space to the infinitesimal smallness of the matter. " Anyway, in the last chapter: "An unresolved question," admitted: "We have examined some scientific answers to the question: How life appeared? But why life appeared? Does life have any purpose? Science can not answer these questions, then just look for the 'how' of things. 'How' and 'why' are two completely different questions. [...] The answer to the question 'why' should look for philosophy, religion and, above all, each one of us. "

How did the universe? You may know, for data from telescopes and space exploration, which most of the scientific community recognizes that the universe has always existed. Had a beginning and is expanding. What does this mean? Listen to the astronomer Sir Bernard Lovell: "If sometime in the past the universe was limited to a singularity of infinitely small size and infinite density, we have to ask what had before [...]. We must face the problem of principle. "
The structure of the universe, including Earth, reflects a surprising accuracy. For example, two notable features of the Sun and other stars are its efficiency and long-term stability. Currently it is estimated that between 50 billion and 125 billion galaxies in the universe. And our Milky Way galaxy is thousands and thousands of millions of stars. Now we think we know that the engine of a car requires a precise mix of fuel and air. If we have a vehicle, possibly relocate to a good mechanic to put the engine about how it work more smoothly and efficiently. If such precision is important in the case of a simple motor, what is not in that of our Sun, the efficient "nuclear furnace"? The key forces involved are adjusted with great accuracy, optimized for the existence of life on Earth. Was it a coincidence that exactly? In ancient times, Job asked: "You dictate the laws of heaven or establish its influence on the earth?" (Job 38:33, Franquesa-Solé). No human being has. So, what can be attributed that precision? (Psalm 19:1.) Is it possible that it comes from something or someone that human eyes can not see? Examine this question in light of modern science. Most astronomers now accept that there are very powerful celestial bodies called black holes. Although not visible, many experts in the field are convinced that they exist. Similarly, the Bible reports that in another area are powerful creatures that can not be seen, spiritual creatures. If such beings are powerful and invisible, is not likely that the precision seen in the whole universe comes from a powerful intelligence? (Nehemiah 9:6.)
A second line argument that can help people to accept the Creator has to do with the origin of life. From the experiments of Louis Pasteur admitted that life does not come from nothing by spontaneous generation. So what is the origin of life on Earth? In the fifties, scientists tried to prove that life could have developed slowly in a primordial ocean to the atmosphere under constant lightning discharges. More recent evidence shows, however, that such an origin of life on Earth is unlikely, because that kind of atmosphere did not exist. Therefore, some scientists are looking for a more plausible explanation. But are They also overlook the most important fact?
British scientist Sir Fred Hoyle, after spending decades in the study of the universe and life in it, said: "Rather than accept the fantastically small probability that the blind forces of nature have produced life it seems best to assume that its origin is due to a deliberate intellectual act. " In effect, the better we know the wonders of life, more logical to think that life came from an intelligent source (Job 33:4, Psalm 8:3, 4; 36:9, Acts 17:28).
So the first line of reasoning has to do with the universe, and the second with the origin of life on Earth. Now to the third: the uniqueness of human beings. The human being each one of us is unique in many ways. Such as? You probably know that the brain has been likened to a powerful computer. However, recent findings show that this comparison is very poor. A scientist from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology said: "Today's computers are not even close to the right for a child of four years to see, speak, move or act on common sense. [...] It is estimated that the capacity to process information from the most powerful supercomputer is equivalent the nervous system of a snail, a tiny part of what we have the supercomputer within the cranial cavity. "
Speech is one of the skills they have thanks to the brain. Although some people speak two, three or more languages, in fact, being able to speak a language even singled us (Isaiah 36:11, Acts 21:37-40). Teachers RS Fouts and DH asked, "is only able to communicate through language man [...]? [...] All the higher animals communicate using [...] gestures, scents, calls, screams and chants, and even dance [as in the case] of bees. However, animals unlike men, do not seem to have a structured grammatical language. And animals do not paint pictures with powers of representation, which can be very significant. In the best only make scribbles. " Only humans can use our brains to speak a language and draw meaningful (compare Isaiah 8:1, 30:8, Luke 1:3).
addition, the human being is aware of himself (Proverbs 14:10). Have we seen a bird, a dog, cat or other animal looking in the mirror and peck, growl or attack? Think they see another animal, it does not recognize themselves. When we look in the mirror, however, we know that we (James 1:23, 24). We consider our appearance or figure out how we will in a few years. No animal does that. Yes, our brain we are singled out. So give credit to whom? How did our brains exist, if not created by God?
The brain also allows us to enjoy art and music, and have a moral sense (Exodus 15:20, Judges 11:34, 1 Kings 6:1, 29-35, Matthew 11:16, 17) . Why us and not animals? The animals use the brain to meet only immediate needs: feeding, breeding or nesting. Only humans think beyond the immediate, some people even think about the effect its actions will have on the environment or their descendants here in many years. Why? Ecclesiastes 3:11 says of man: "Even time indefinite he has put [the Creator] in their hearts." Indeed, our ability to think about the meaning of indefinite or imagine eternal life is unique.
Our entire existence, including our sense of morality and morality itself, must relate to the Creator. Dr. Rollo May once wrote: "The only appropriate structure for the moral is that based on the sense The last of life. " Where is this? He continues: "The last structure is the nature of God. The principles of God are those that underlie the life from the beginning of creation until the end. "
We understand well, then, why the Psalmist asked the Creator with humility and wisdom: "Let me know your own ways, O Lord, teach me your own paths. Make me walk in your truth and teach me, for you are my God of salvation "(Psalm 25:4, 5). Knowing better the Creator, the life of the Psalmist would have more meaning, purpose and direction. The same is true in el caso de cada uno de nosotros (Éxodo 33:13).
Llegar a conocer los “propios caminos” del Creador implica conocer todavía mejor cómo es él, tanto su personalidad como sus sendas.
